Remanufactured vs. Compatible vs. Original (OEM)

	A remanufactured toner cartridge is a used cartridge that has been recovered and refilled with toner while not replacing the cartridges key components that effect print quality.
	A compatible cartridge is a cartridge that has been recovered and that all key components have been replaced. Like OEM cartridges, OfficeXpress compatible cartridges reuse the shell of the original cartridge while replacing all key components that effect print quality. In addition, unlike many OEM components, OfficeXpress components are made in the USA.
	An original (OEM) brand cartridge uses an original shell or one recovered through their recycling program and replaces all key components that effect print quality. When buyers purchase an “OEM” toner, they are often buying a cartridge that utilizes recycled or reconditioned parts—similar to how OfficeXpress’ toner cartridges are created, with an approximately 30 percent savings.
OEM cartridges usually have a return mailing slip in the box so the supplier can re-use parts while still charging a higher price. This program is evident by the disclosures on many of the OEM boxes.
